We are delighted to announce the launch of a new project in Šiauliai together with our partners!
The Lithuanian Red Cross (Lietuvos Raudonasis Kryžius) in cooperation with Open Nations, Šiauliai State College, the Vytautas Vitkauskas Šiauliai Public Library, and the Joniškis Culture Centre are beginning the implementation of the project: “Successful Integration in Šiauliai County: Comprehensive Assistance for Residents of Foreign Origin,” which is supported by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (PMIF).
The project’s goal is to ensure the social, cultural, and economic integration of third-country nationals in Šiauliai County by providing psychosocial support, language training, informational and consulting services, mediation, and community activities. These services help migrants acquire necessary knowledge, strengthen skills, and successfully integrate into the life of the local community, promoting social cohesion in the region and ensuring equal opportunities in the long term.
Activities implemented within the project:
- Mental health strengthening and psychosocial support services.
- Socio-cultural orientation.
- Activities promoting interaction between migrants and the local community. This specific area is implemented by theLithuanian Red Cross together with Open Nations.
- Training in digital, cybersecurity, legal, and financial literacy.
- State language courses.
- Initiatives to promote volunteering.
- Informational, consulting, and mediation services that help meet various needs (housing, employment, access to social, medical, and educational services).
- The use of cultural and artistic means for integration.
- Educational programs to strengthen psychosocial well-being and community cohesion.
